News from Ghunsa School and Village Project is that the quake has NOT damaged the school or village which is good news. However the previous earthquake damage (a couple of years ago) to the hydro scheme means the system is operating at only 50% and requires repair. All our immediate Sherpa friends in Kathmandu and those climbing on both sides of Everest have reported in alive and well so far, which is incredibly lucky. Huge damage is reported throughout the Khumbu (Everest) region and multiple deaths reported at Mt Everest BC and many of our Nepalese friends have lost friends and our thoughts are with them and all the people of Nepali in these dark hours. HDFA will be putting together a relief fund on Monday to assist with the rebuilding of Nepal and the immediate relief work that needs to be done in this emerging humanitarian crisis.
Cycle through stunning villages, see stunning mountain views and meet the great people of Nepal.
A group of HDFA supporters went on an amazing adventure, trekking into remote Nepal. Visiting the Ghunsa school and leading the way to 5,000m at Lonak Nepal, Kanchenjunga Base Camp trek.
