HDFA Newsletter | July 2017
Jul 15, 2017
Dear HDFA Supporter,
We are excited to announce a new pilot program “Laptops for Nepal”, which aims to improve education in remote area schools for both children and adults, as part of HDFA’s community development programs.
In the coming months trekkers will travel through HDFA’s key project areas of Kanchenjunga and Upper Indrawati, with another group heading to Everest Base Camp trek. The Autumn trekking season (October – November) is one of the best times to visit Nepal’s mountains. So grab your passport, boots and backpack and go take a look. If you can’t make it this year, then never fear, there are already three trips lined up for 2018.
A big thanks to those of you who generously donated to our EOFY appeal. Together you gave a fabulous total of just over $14,000 which is equivalent to a teacher’s salary for three years. We were also able to secure an additional 10 hostel place supporters who have pledged ~$1/day to allow a child to attend school, who otherwise would have missed out. What an amazing impact to have for as little as a $1/day. If you would like to help, we still need another 15 supporters.
